Markham, ON – Invixium Access Inc., manufacturer of modern, IP-based biometric products today announced the signing of a global partnership with Genetec Inc., a leading provider of open architecture security and public safety solutions, to distribute Invixium biometric products for access control. Through this agreement, Genetec will promote and resell the Invixium biometric product line to its certified global network of resellers.
Invixium products have been integrated with Security Center SynergisTM access control software, part of GenetecTM Security Center, through Invixium’s management software, IXM WEB allowing for two-way synchronization of user credentials in real-time while the biometric devices are connected via Wiegand to the access control panel. As an added benefit and game-changer, the integration was developed utilising the RIO protocol for direct communication to the SynergisTM Cloud Link appliance allowing Invixium biometric devices the option to act as edge controllers at the door, eliminating the need for an access control panel.
This integration between Synergis and IXM WEB provides a simplified process for user management and eliminates the need to enter user data into two separate software applications, thus dramatically reducing setup time for installers. For internal entrances, Genetec customers now have the flexibility to opt for single door access control where the Invixium biometric device controls access directly, providing a significant cost savings on the overall system. This marks the most comprehensive integration with Synergis with a biometric manufacturer resulting in a tremendous win for Genetec customers who can now provide biometrics as a more secure and cost-effective alternative to existing card and PIN code systems.
“This is the first integration with biometrics that utilizes the RIO protocol, which provides tremendous flexibility and scalability for our customers,” said Thibaut Louvet, Access Control Systems Director at Genetec. “The partnership is in line with our strategy of adding the top brands to the Genetec ecosystem, and we are excited to offer our customers a modern, cutting-edge technology that complements our existing architecture, delivering a truly versatile security solution for biometric access control.”
Known for an exquisite design and high-quality construction, Invixium’s IP-enabled biometric solutions feature the latest in cutting-edge technology to provide lightning fast results and enjoyable experiences. By leveraging the best fingerprint sensor technologies on the market including: multispectral imaging, active thermal and high resolution optical, Invixium has crafted a suite of products with superior performance in ideal indoor applications as well as in rugged harsh outdoor environments. Invixium’s biometric development expertise has also made provisions for sensor interoperability among all three options, allowing the freedom to enroll users on any device with seamless authentication across a mix of products on the same network.
