Configuring VoIP on IXM Devices from IXM WEB

Description

VoIP is a technology that allows telephone calls to be made over computer networks like the Internet. VoIP converts analog voice signals into digital data packets and supports real-time, two-way transmission of conversations using Internet Protocol (IP).

Configure VoIP

VoIP server needs to be installed and configured in the same network. IXM devices work as VoIP clients. Once the VoIP server is configured, perform the following steps.

  • Click CONFIG tile >> VoIP app that will redirect to the VoIP window.
  • Toggle VoIP Settings to ON, provide necessary VoIP server details and click Apply.
  • Upon successful registration, the IXM device will give the VoIP status as Online.

Configure VoIP Contact

  • Click Create to create a new contact on the IXM device.
  • Provide details for “Display Name”, “VoIP ID”, Activate “Default Contact” (optional & only one contact can be made as default) and click Save.
  • Click Apply to save the contact on the device.

SIP Server

  • Open 3CX Server URL in browser and login with credentials.
  • It allows user to add/update extension. Click Add Extension to add new extension.
  • Provide necessary details and click Apply to save changes.
  • It will redirect to confirmation page and show details of created extension
  • Use this extension and follow the same process mentioned from Step #2 onwards in the section “Configure VoIP” (Page – 4).
  • Once VoIP settings saved, user can confirm the status of the extension in the 3CX Server. It will appear as “Registered (Idle)” in 3CX server.

Configure Android app (CSipSimple) for VoIP

  • Configure VoIP settings in device first by following the same process mentioned from Step #1 onwards in the section “Configure VoIP” (Page – 3).
  • Download CSipSimple app from Google Play Store to your Android phone.
  • Tap CSipSimple to open app
  • Tap the “key icon” at bottom-left on the mobile screen. It will load Add Acoount screen.
  • Tapping on Add Account will pop up wizard. Tap Basic option from Generic wizards section.
  • Provide necessary values and save details.
  • To confirm setup, it will redirect user to Account screen. Created account will show Registered status upon successful setup.
  • User can now dial this created VoIP contact and call will redirect to IXM Device’s VoIP contact.

Configure iOS app (Zoiper) for VoIP

  • Configure VoIP settings in device first by following the same process mentioned from Step #1 onwards in the section “Configure VoIP” (Page – 3).
  • Download Zoiper app from Apple store to your iPhone.
  • Tap Settings and select Account Option.
  • Tap “+” icon to continue creating new VoIP account and provide necessary values under SIP Options.
  • Tap Register to complete the setup. It will display registration status on top of the screen upon success/fail.
  • Using the created account, user can call on IXM Device upon configured VoIP contact using Zoiper app.
